Meet Gabriella and Augustino! These colleagues from a Milan-based company shared their take on embracing change, problem-solving, and the benefits of positivity!
Gabriella brought Augustino to The Red Dot Coffee Company to bring him a “little touch of home” with a European-style cappuccino.
With a trip that was planned to be a couple of weeks, he’s been in the Detroit area since May.
So you like it here then?”
“Yeah. Why not?”
“He loves it here.”
One of the things we’ve been highlighting this month is the idea of embracing when you’re going through something big, difficult or new. The temptation might be to rush through it or avoid it.
What I’ve been through in life is that things don’t work out the way you want them to.
But yet they can.
It’s just a matter of how you receive it and what you do with it.
I think people are so disappointed that things don’t go their way that they just kind of take a step back and don’t embrace these opportunities.
It may not be what we’re looking for right now but in the end, it might get us where we’re ultimately wanting to go.
Life is too short. We don’t embrace it enough.
*speaks in Italian*
*speaks for him*
This idea of embracing is not an Italian way. They just kind of take life by the horns and just go with it. They ask questions later. They don’t try to figure it out. *Chuckles*
You have to be creative and open-minded. You have to be willing to think outside the box. So it’s challenging. You get frustrated because everybody wants － we want that quick answer. And we can’t find it that way so you just have to research, embrace and motivate ourselves.
That’s the difficult part. To motivate yourself.
It’s easy to just walk away.
But if you embrace it － if you tough it out and take it one day at a time and just get through it. We know we will [get through it] because that’s our mentality.
Be positive. You’ll figure it out whether it’s work or life. It’s not perfect. Although the social concept is it should be perfect.
Positivity changes even your health. We can control the way we think. People think they don’t have that control but really we do.
Guys, thanks for laughing with us, for sharing and inspiring!
